Søren Robert Lund is the architect behind the original ARKEN. His vision was to create a museum that broke with the static schema of the prevalent museum building tradition, believing that the architecture of the structure should be as visionary as the art it was to hold.
Anna Maria Indrio drew the extension of the galleries in 2008. The new rooms were designed with respect for ARKEN’s particular and striking architecture, and so that it was in harmony with the proportions of the existing façades.
Both architects contributed to ARKEN’s latest extension in 2009. Søren Robert Lund designed the entrance and THE DETLEFS HALL, while Anna Maria Indrio was behind the teaching and communication rooms, ARKEN CREATIVE.
