Tove Storch’s works are both fragile and sensual, massive and minimal. They have an understated but insistent presence that demonstrates her fine sense of the beauty of physical materials. She works with among other materials silk, which she often stretches out over a frame construction, thus challenging our idea of the solid sculpture.
Tove Storch was awarded the ARKEN Travel Grant for her ability to use sculpture to challenge our understanding of space and our perception of what a sculpture is.
The artist duo AVPD consists of Aslak Vibæk and Peter Døssing, who have worked together since 1997. They create unexpected spatial situations for the viewer, who must navigate through architectural structures that distort our habitual experience of and relations with the surrounding world. In AVPD’s installations you find yourself in a new and different state where nothing is as it used to be.
AVPD were awarded the ARKEN Travel Grant for their original installations that challenge the viewer’s experience of the surrounding world.
