Nancy Burson graduated from Colorado Women’s College in Denver. She has been visiting professor at Harvard University and assistant professor at the institute of photography at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Today Burson lives and works in New York.
Since the 1980s Burson has attained great international recognition. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions all over the world, e.g. the International Centre of Photography (2004), The National Museum of Photography in Copenhagen (2003), ARKEN Museum of Modern Art (2000), The Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston (1995) and the Venice Biennial (1995).
