Torbjørn Rødland studied at Ragaland University Centre in Stavanger 1989-1991 and at the National College of Art and Design in Bergen 1992-1995. Today Torbjørn Rødland lives and works in Oslo. In recent years Rødland has had several solo exhibitions as well as participated in group shows. Venues include Nils Stærk Contemporary Art (2001, 2003, 2005, 2006), Kodama Gallery in Tokyo (2006), P.S.1 Contemporary Art Centre in New York (2005, 2006), Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid (2005), ARKEN Museum of Modern Art (2004), Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam (2004), Kunsthal Charlottenborg (2002), Musée National d’Art Moderne, Centre Pompidou in Paris (2000), Moderna Museet in Stockholm (2000) and the Venice Biennial (1999). Furthermore Torbjørn Rødland is represented in a number of museums the world over, including Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, Oslo, Norway, The Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington DC., Fonds Nationale d'art Contemporain, Puteaux, France, Herning Art Museum, Herning, Denmark, Malmö Art Museum, Malmö, Sweden.
