Several of the works in the exhibition express the raw, urban aspects of the big city. Concepts like urban planning, urbanity and the abstraction of urban life are formulated, and the works become symbols of the city’s dynamic reality, which never stands still. Several works therefore represent an urban feeling and state of mind that could relate to any imaginary city.
Precisely this concept of urbanity is a field of interest from which much contemporary art originates. Change and mutability is one of the basic conditions of the city and thus also of art.
