BGK'S ART PROGRAMME

ARKEN’s contemporary-art collection and research are the backdrop for instruction at ARKEN BGK. Mixing inquiry, skills, theory and reflection, the programme prepares students for entry to a higher-level education in the arts.

At ARKEN BGK we work in all media. Alongside the mandatory instruction, you are encouraged to shape your own training. A large part of the programme involves doing your own work. The last two years are an opportunity to devote yourself to the media of your choice. 

INSTRUCTORS

Instructors are professional artists, working together with ARKEN’s art educators. With the museum as your campus, you have ideal opportunities for taking advantage of ARKEN’s collection, research and institutional framework.

Art educator Thorbjørn Bechmann develops and manages the program, while also serving as an instructor alongside a changing lineup of visiting artists.
