Come to the family screening with BUSTER Film Festival at ARKEN in September. On Sunday 28 September 2025, the film “Historier til Maya”, directed by Michel Gondry, will be shown. Maya and her father, Michel, live in different countries, but they call each other every evening. ‘Maya, give me a title,’ he says. And because Maya's father is Michel Gondry – the filmmaker behind “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” – Maya's ideas are transformed into small, colourful stop-motion films filled with mermaids and volcanoes. With paper cut-outs, inventive craftsmanship and plenty of twinkle in their eyes, father and daughter create a magical space across distances. The film is a loving tribute to imagination, parenthood and the art of storytelling – and to the special bond that ties father and daughter together, even when they are far apart.
After the film, you can explore ARKEN. Step into Kenneth Rasmussen's jungle of giant knitted sculptures and try your hand at knitting between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. – it's fun for both children and adults, whether you're a beginner or an expert. You can also visit artist Frederik Næblerød's studio, where you can paint or draw yourself, or hop into POOL, a sensory ball pit filled with experiences. To join the film journey, you must have both a ticket to the film and admission to the museum.
