Inspired by Kenneth Rasmussen's enormous knitted sculptures and with the assistance of passionate knitters from across the West Coast, we invite museum visitors to participate in free knitting! Here, you can learn to knit or attempt a motif from the exhibition. Maybe your next sweater should say 'Goddammit'?

PIL writes songs in Danish about offbeat emotions, wrapped in a playful and uplifting pop universe. Themes like loneliness and heartbreak are described in a way that makes listeners feel something is at stake, while also seeing themselves in the vivid and sometimes awkward scenarios.

ARKEN Later? takes its point of departure in the exhibition Chameleon by Monira Al Qadiri – a sensuous and shimmering exploration of oil, identity, power, and the global economy. With the exhibition’s mutable universe as its focal point, the evening unfolds in a program where art, literature, and club culture mirror and challenge one another.

Join us for a cozy and thought-provoking afternoon in the company of three enthusiastic knitters: SF leader Pia Olsen Dyhr, who grew up in Vestegnen, curator Dorthe Juul Rugaard, and mathematician and creative family man Jacob Jørgensen. Taking the exhibition For Helvede Mand by Kenneth Rasmussen as its starting point, the conversation—held over knitting needles—will touch on everyday life, creating with our hands, rhythms, repetitions, communities and the things that make us pause for a moment.

In the solo exhibition Come Hell or High Water, SUPERFLEX transforms the museum into a sunken ship — a blue-toned ark for all species. Drawing on their new project The Ark Factory and works from their 30-year practice, the exhibition invites visitors into a future in which the ocean shapes both our world and our actions.

Experience Denmark’s rock mama, Sanne Salomonsen, and some of her iconic songs, including “Kærligheden kalder,” “Voodoo,” and “Den lille løgn.”

ARKEN is opening a new, imaginative exhibition universe created by the world-renowned Danish artist Thomas Dambo.

Grab your friends and join a unique drawing workshop with the artist Frederik Næblerød, where you’ll create your own works on paper using crayons, oil pastels, and colored pencils. It will be a large-scale workshop where you and your friends can create together with others – while enjoying the atmosphere in “The Botanical Garden” (Detlefs Hall), which Frederik Næblerød has decorated from floor to ceiling.

Burhan G is one of Denmark’s most popular pop and R&B artists and has, over the years, delivered a long line of hits that many Danes can sing along to.
