Anders Matthesen is currently developing new stand-up material – and new jokes are constantly being added.
Now you have a rare opportunity to step inside the creative engine as Anders Matthesen takes the stage at Arken, playing with ideas, testing new punchlines, and improvising with the audience as his honest laughter gauge.
Over the decades, Anders Matthesen has cemented his place as one of Denmark’s greatest comedians. With iconic shows such as “Anden på Coke,” “Tal For Dig Selv,” and “Anders Matthesen Vender Tilbage,” as well as cult classics like “Terkel i Knibe,” “Sorte Kugler,” and “Jul på Vesterbro,” he has made Danes laugh time and time again – creating moments we still quote and smile at today.
This is not a finished show, but rather a living playground of small bits, thoughts, quirky observations, and spontaneous ideas. Some of the material may later make its way into future one-man shows – other parts will exist only in that very moment. This makes the evening a unique experience, where you get Anders Matthesen exactly as he is at his best: with a microphone in hand and the audience right in front of him. The exhibitions close when dinner is served at 6:30 PM – however, the museum remains open until 9:00 PM on Thursdays.

3-course menu:
Starter: Cold-smoked Danish salmon from Sommerlund – lightly smoked ricotta (La Traccia) – summer salad – sea rocket oil.
Main course: Stuffed Hopballe Mølle chicken – seasonal greens – potato croquette with cream – shiitake sauce.
Dessert: Rhubarb mazarin – vanilla cream – white chocolate.
