In 2002, Simone Aaberg Kærn climbs into her small single-engine aircraft and sets course for Kabul. Inspired by a newspaper article about Farial, a 16-year-old Afghan girl dreaming of becoming a fighter pilot, Aaberg Kærn decides to build a feminist airbridge - a performative mission to reclaim the freedom of the skies in a world of military restrictions and closed airspace.
