During the first and last week of the schools' summer holidays, ARKEN offers Summer Picture School for children. The Summer Picture School draws inspiration from the museum's current exhibitions Anish Kapoor- Unseen and Group Therapy — New Contemporary Art as well as the sculptures outdoors.

The teaching will be an alternation between curious workshop conversations and fun work exercises in the exhibitions, as well as focused workshop work with different materials and expressions. There will also be small walks out to the artworks outdoors. We hope there's good weather so we can have lunch in the green every day.

The Summer Picture School is held in weeks 27 and 32 and runs over four days, Tuesday-Friday, 9.30-13.30.
On Friday at 1.30 pm there is a conference where children's works and the activities of the week are presented. There will be a small refreshment, and afterwards the children will have the opportunity to show parents and siblings around the museum themselves.

Enrollment
The summer picture school caters primarily to children aged 8-12 years. It costs DKK 1,150 per participating child (including snacks and materials). Tickets can be purchased here.
