Artist and truck driver
Villiam Miklos Andersen (b. 1995) has three art educations in his professional background and is also trained as a truck driver. His time on the German motorways has likewise informed his artistic practice, for example in the work Caffé Creme, which nods to the inexpensive coffee many drivers buy while travelling through Europe.

Logic and logistics
Villiam Miklos Andersen is concerned with how logistical systems and labour structures of post-industrial society affect the personal sphere of life. This is evident, for example, in the work Flora’s Wagon of Fools, which can be experienced in the exhibition 55.6° North – Arken’s Collection from 5 February to 30 August 2026 at ARKEN.

In the work, tulips are frozen in time at a constant temperature of –18 degrees Celsius, symbolising humanity’s need for growth and the accumulation of value, alongside a global urge to encapsulate and control the materials of nature. Through his large-scale installations, Villiam Miklos Andersen creates spaces for emotion and reflection on themes such as consumption, gender, and systems.

First time at ARKEN
Villiam Miklos Andersen has previously exhibited his work in both solo and group exhibitions at various venues, including Beijing in China, Taiwan, and the United States. This marks the first time the artist is exhibiting at ARKEN.
